balithai

Had an sumptuous meal with my parents at BaliThai not long ago.

This is our spread. Their seafood tom yum soup is not bad. Love the seafood platter but its a little on the high side amounting to over 30dollars.

Love my mood on the day I had this devilish meal. Much more relaxed than usual. Perhaps i have managed to persuade myself to not overstress me.

Alright... Gonna end with something random...

Coconut Love~~~

P.S.// But sad to say, by the time I am putting this up, I get that queer and uneasy feeling in me again. Sigh…

wedding anniversary @ brotzeit

Recently, I have been really lazy to blog. And that indolence seems dominant in other aspects of my life as well.

Right in this first picture, you can see that humongous arm of mine. All these time of slacking with good food has created more armies of fats for me! :/

Last Saturday, my family plus Isaac went to celebrate my parents' wedding anniversary@Brotzeit. It was nice at the level 2 of their 313 outlet which was very cosy.

Delicious food and a must-try will be their pork knuckle. The sausages are delectable as well. But what pleasantly surprise me is their asparagus salad which is oh-so-marvelous!

Look at my comical dad! Haha... And the beer on the left is a really clear and smooth beer. The other on the right will be their normal white beer. The clear beer is really crystal clear! It will look exactly like chrysanthemum tea if you remove the foam on top. HAHA… My mum had beer with sprite which is essentially shandy. My sis and i had their fruit beers where my sis chose mango while i went for banana. But after a taste of both, i will definitely pick the mango flavoured beer over its banana friend anytime. The mango flavour is stronger while the banana beer just tasted like a sweetened beer without much traces of banana in it.

Then we end the night with coffee at the Greenhouse café located with Pocket full of Poises florist. It gives a garden feel with its wooden tables and swings as chairs. Sadly, our group is too big and those are only meant for a max group of 4 so we are left with their normal seats.

Their hot chocolate is tasty in my opinion. Its not too thick but yet, creamy. Nice!

Seriously speaking, I am quite envious of my parents. After close to three decades of living with each other, they are still very much in love. I often wonder whether they got bored of each other or whether changes in each other ever become too unbearable for them to handle. Ultimately, I guess I am trying to find out whether I can be like them after I get married. I want to and i will work hard to but the future is always unknown and out of reach to mortals like myself.

Making my life…

I am trying to make my life less depressing and relieve my stress by engaging in activities which will put my mind off words like

Unemployed

Jobless

Idle

I have no idea what’s so wrong with me that I couldn’t stand myself having no news when its only a month since my last paper. I am really sorry people, that I only put up 3 posts since my last paper and in each of them, it always start off with my endless grumbling and nagging about me being jobless.

Anyway, back to what I was saying, I tried to get out of my dispirited and dark world by…

trying to make myself a pajeon, which as mentioned in my previous post, is known as the Korean pancake.

Then today, I met up with Claire and Tarynn for a short lunch at Swensens! As I was waiting for them, I pampered, errr…, no, I meant I tried to DE-STRESS myself by visiting Etude House for some nail polish.

And as you can see, I ended up with 3 of them. Really confused over whether I should be happy for my new trophies =) or sad that I burnt a hole in my purse yet again!=(

Anyway, I just realized that all the colours that I purchased are all dark when it is SUMMER and everyone are coming out with BRIGHT COLOURS to celebrate the coming of SUMMER. Sigh… I guess I am still depressed subconsciously…

Thanks for the presents! Love Love~~~

lost

I managed to accomplish some stuff at the end of the week.

1. A movie date with lunch and dinner inclusive.  This may seem pretty normal but it is really rare for us. =(

2. Meet up with my darling baby and William and manage to slack off the afternoon at her place. Had a nice time playing with Cherry! Still as hyper as ever. HAHA…

I was so depressed and worried about not having a job, feeling like a total failure when baby’s mum pointed out something really simple. She was asking how was I when I replied her that I am jobless. She pointed out quite simply that it was barely a month, I should give myself a break. I was so caught up with the whole “I-would-be-jobless” swirl of thoughts that I haven’t consider how long it has been since my last paper. Although, that realization comforted me for a while, it didn’t last long. I returned to my panicky and dispirited self in no time. =(

I guess, perhaps, it’s in times like these that I really need to do things to keep my mind preoccupied. It’s been nearly a month and I haven get down to clearing up the redundant study materials that dominated my tiny space. I wanted to do a mini refurnishing to my room but I haven’t even started packing. Sigh…

Its funny how such stuff kept intruding your mind when you are studying but when you got lotsa time on hand, they don’t seem to occur to you anymore. When I was trying to study hard for my finals, I kept wanting to cook new Korean dishes, clean up my room and buy some furniture, clear my wardrobe and sell some unwanted clothes. Now that I am free, I feel like doing none.

I shall stop my grumbling here.

Isaac and I discovered a small Korean restaurant with a Korean grocery store attached to the back of it at Chinatown Point. So we went down to give it a try. Look at Isaac in the picture! He must be msging some girl lah! Can’t even take his eyes off for a proper picture with me! =(

The first thing that mesmerized us was, sadly, the can of snow pear juice on the right of the picture. It is really delicious with real fruit pulp inside! Yummy! I was contemplating whether or not to buy their pack with a dozen cans but considering, the places that we have yet to visit, I decided against it. HAHA…

I am sorry for the emptiness in the following picture.

I think we were famished and gobbled up all of it before we realized. I have been looking for nice ddukbokkie (I’m sorry if I spelled wrongly!) which is Korean spicy rice cakes. I think that the ddukbokkie here is the best that I have tried in Singapore. But then and again, I don’t know many places that sell ddukbokkie. Hee… >.<

Their pajeon which is Korean pancake or some calls it the Korean pizza is also one of the best. Another place that serves good pajeon would be the Korean food stall at Food republics. Anyway, it is really expensive to eat pajeon at restaurants but it is actually very simple and easy to make at home. Seriously, I still couldn’t fathom how come pajeon is so exorbitant when the ingredients used are not expensive at all!

The none-spicy beef stew is nice too! Although it is served in such a small bowl, it is filled with beef and other ingredients. Quality soup!

After catching the Back-up plan at Marina, we went to the Putien there. I was pleasantly surprised to see it there. I had been craving for their dishes for a long time but I didn’t know any of their outlets which are located at more central area (or more of I am lazy to check). This time round, we tried their Sin hwa mee hoon which is the top picture, their fried yam which I forgot to take a picture of and cold pig trotters served in slices. The sin hwa mee hoon tasted great but I kind of prefer the lor mee which is way more delicious in my opinion to the sin hwa mee hoon. Both the 2 side dishes are delectable but I would recommend the cold pig trotters!!! IT IS DAMN NICE! DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN NICE!

See the number of DAMNs? You guys should try it!

Heehee… William’s backdrop looks like some resort place with a great alfresco dining area right? This is Ajisen@ VivoCity! The ambience is good just the lack of delectable side dishes. They also serve other dishes from Ajisen’s other brands such as Okonomiyaki, Yakisoba etc.

I am such a frog in a well because I finally tried AWFULLY CHOCOLATE! When millions had already tasted twice, thrice or even more. We had their ice-cream which is good and their chocolate sliced cake. Chocolate lovers would adore their cakes as the cakes are rich in chocolate. There isn’t much sponge which should be good and their chocolate isn’t mixed with whipped cream for people who dislike the soft creamy taste. Instead, you have quite a sturdy and rich chocolate cake. And their spoons and forks are totally adorable!
