the slacker in me

I am going to write about my lunch on Monday at 7.25p.m. on Sunday. Nearly 7 days apart. I am such a brilliant person!

Anyway, Isaac finally brought me to The Handburger which opened like don’t know how many thousands years ago. I must be such an outdated person! While he, that Mr. Hip hip, ate it like a few thousands years ago. Haha.. I know I sound jealous. Teehee…

This is the beef burger with sweet onion. That’s the problem with blogging only so long later…. you can’t even remember the details correctly! Sigh…. I find this quite nice but nothing compared to the Moomoo burger at Vittles. That must be the best! They are having lunch specials now and it includes either a chilled tomato or fries and a glass of fresh apple juice. The apple juice is really fresh! I bet it is made from fresh apples and not just with apple concentrate. The chilled tomato might be a good alternative to have for people who dislike fries (like moi!) but you might not be able to finish it. It’s taste, to me, seems to be something that is delicious only if it is served in small quantity but the tomato’s size is too big and too much to be recognized as “small quantity”.

Here you can see the apple juice and chilled tomato along with dory fish burger (I think.. if I am not wrong…). Isaac likes this better than the beef burger but I find that both are good. But their burgers are huge!

Anyway, their burgers under their lunch special is the same for Monday and Tuesday and it is a different set for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I didn’t catch any Saturday or Sunday though…

Had a buffet with Isaac on Thursday at the Sakura restaurant at Yio Chu Kang but I didn’t take any picture. Was too distracted by food and the large crowd because SMART had their CNY company lunch there as well. =( If you love salmon sashimi, go there! Their salmon sashimi can be considered quite fresh but their array of sashimi is limited though. Loved the baked oyster and prawn. Damn nice! Their durian puree is delicious as well but I didn’t see it this time round, had it the previous time I went there.

Okay.. I am gonna end off abruptly here. Heehee..

And sorry Claire, if you see this, I am so sorry that I am only wishing you Happy Birthday now! =( I know I am nearly a week late! =( Anyway,

Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a great time this year! =)

Happy chinese new year

I should be mugging away now like Mr. Mugger but apparently I am not. Since I am here. HAHA… been lazy over the past few days. So here is my plain little reunion dinner.

Reunion Dinner at Dian Xiao Er

To be honest, I wouldn’t recommend their reunion dinner. Although, they are quite good with their ducks on normal days, their standard for reunion dinner was quite bad. Can you see the two bowls of soup up there? The one in the middle was supposed to be Shark’s fin soup but there isn’t a single trace of fin and the whole thing just seems like thick goo. The one of the right is the dessert – American Ginseng Bird’s nest soup. Once again, it’s a disappointment. The rest of the food seems pretty alright but we are a group of disgruntled customers.

My dad always book at places where he had dined before and was always disappointed with the drop in food quality on reunion day. So after years of sucky reunion food, my dad came up with the suggestion that perhaps, we should have our reunion dinner earlier where the standard of food is usually better.

Although, reunion dinner was a letdown, it didn’t stop the camwhore sisters from camwhoring. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA….

First dine-out-meal of the year was at Swensen’s Chinatown point branch, after visiting my eldest uncle’s family who live right behind Chinatown point. LOL…

The second day of Chinese new year was always reserved for my mum’s side of the family, where everyone would gathered at my eldest uncle’s place. This year was kind of a rush for us because my blur blur mum (now we all know where I get my blurness from…) got the time wrongly. We planned to reach at 7p.m. but at 5plus, when we were about to go and prepare, my uncle called and was shocked to know that we were still at home. Then, he shocked us by informing us that everyone was at his house already and waiting for us!!!!

The rest will be up to your imagination because I don’t find it hard to imagine the mad rush that we went through. HAHA…

And TA DA! We reached slightly before 6.30pm in the end. Okay… time to hit the books!

sweet valentine

This maybe a little too early. But what to do when Valentine’s Day falls on the same day as Chinese New Year? And at least in our families, Chinese New Year triumphs over Valentine’s Day.

The initial plan was a VS bra for me (but disappointing VS at Resorts World shattered it all) and a FCUK top (or some top…) for him. But funnily, both of us decided to prepare a little something for each other besides the presents mentioned above.

I decided to make rice balls or onigiri as the Japanese called it after talking to Tarynn. HAHA… Then Isaac, I have no idea what struck him, but he decided to get me a pot of roses. HEEHEE… The rationale as explained by him was that as long as i tended the roses well, roses from him will be perpetually with me and hence, he will not need to buy roses for me every now and then. SAVE MONEY!!!!

His family bought 4 pots of roses but he specially insisted and picked out this pot from the lot for me because there are exactly 12 roses on it. HAHA… Such a funny man!

As for my onigiri, well, you see, I always have a bad habit of overcooking and over-ordering when it comes to food. So, the same goes for my onigiri. I guess the average person should take in about 2-3 onigiri for a normal meal. But… somehow, I decided that 5 was more right than wrong. HAHA…

It turned out that I made Kimchi, Tuna Mayo, Egg Mayo with pork belly, prawn and luncheon meat onigiri. HAHA… I tried to make the prawn onigiri like a girl with the prawn tail as the ponytail but it turned out to look more like a fish. HEEHEE…

Anyway, in the midst of delivering the onigiri, my heart-shaped luncheon meat onigiri was disfigured! So sad… none of the other onigiri were destroyed, only the heart-shaped one. What a shame!

In the end, none of the initial presents were bought and given and instead, the presents which were supposed to be additional became the sole and main display of amour.

the long long last

I finally got to do stuff that i wanted to do for a long time yesterday!!

Numero Uno: Brunch at Prive

I have to confess that this meal came about through some underhand means. HAHA.. You see, brunch at Prive was a prize for me if I manage to stay within my financial means for the month of January. And I did! Hence the treat from Isaac. BUTI did it by shifting my outflows to my credit card. LOL.. But hey! All is fair in love and war and he didn’t say that my credit card bill is included. ^^

Isaac ordered this devilish yet irresistible chocolate banana milkshake! Yummy!

Love the creamy and not-too-sweet taste of their milkshake. The only minus point I could think of was the almond flakes in the milkshake because I am not a fan of nuts. In fact, I dislike them alot. So this should be a problem of personal preference. HAHA…

TADA!!

That’s our brunch. Isaac had their Ultimate breakfast while I ordered their Egg Royale. Both are simply delicious! So enticing that Isaac was thinking about them even today! HAHA…

And that Isaac ahh… even after such a palatable meal, he still could give me such a face! LOL…

Numero Dos: Resorts World

Specifically, it should be Victoria’s Secret.

However, it was so disappointing with their small retail area. They don’t sell bras there and their panties and pajamas are of limited selection. They do have their bags and perfumes if you are looking for those.

But since we are in it already, we decided to take a look around.

Nudity at the lobby of a hotel

Was pretty amazed by the little tunnel that leads you to the escalator that will bring you to the shopping area in Resorts World.

It looked like a chapel with its high ceiling and design. Hence, Isaac and I decided to act like we were singing praises and praying. HAHA…

Numero Tres: Meeting Baby and William!!!!

Dinner at IKEA which we missed out at our previous meeting. I was always stunned by the amount of food we order.

Let me list it all out here. Its pretty fascinating to me. That 3 people thought that they could eat so much.

1 Daim Cake, 1 Blueberry Cheesecake, 8 Chicken Wings, 1 Mushroom soup, 1 Honey Grilled Chicken with rice, 1 Chicken Leg served with Mashed potatoes and 15 meatballs with fries. And 3 cups of free flow drinks. Simply amazing!

And I caught this picture down as I was snapping away at the food.

Sheer sweetness on William’s part .

I ain’t saying that Baby isn’t sweet (in case she misunderstood.. heehee…), just trying to put up an evidence so that she don’t keep saying William isn’t sweet. HAHA…

See! The president is very hardworking! HAHA…

Alright, all was well. And I hope my Labour Economics midterm better be well too. Sigh…

i love and i hate... do i love or hate?
I am pretty confused whether I love my parents or I hate them.
HAHA.. That's inappropriate usage of words!

Sometimes I really feel that I have a love-hate relationship with my family.
And I hope I am not the only one out there?

Yesterday, I was so pissed at them for their lack of support for me. So pissed that I just walked super fast alone back home from where we had our dinner (OMG! Ain't it lucky that the dinner place was near my house!!). I didn't even wait for them. Just walked all the way and took the lift up. But stupid me didn't have the keys since I left home with my sis. So I stood like a dumbo outside my house, waiting for them to reach. While waiting for them, I was thinking of all the mean things to say to them if they ever ask why did I want to walk so rapidly back home when I don't have the keys.

Wanted to say things like, "I rather stand outside my house like a dumbo and NOT walk alongside of you all!"
But in the end, I didn't say it although they did ask. I just kept quiet and glared at them. Stomped into the house and straight into my room. Closed the door and pretend to study.
But in fact, I was fuming. So angry that I couldn't start studying.

They never apologise and I am not even sure if they know why am I so pissed off. But then, I woke up today in a neutral mood and my dad came and chat with me (usually nonsense.. HAHA.. okay... unimportant matters we will call it). I thought that maybe I should continue to be cold but I couldn't bear. So we acted like yesterday's episode didn't occur at all. That's how it usually is in my family.

And tonight, I finally brought them to "Udders". This fabulous MAO SHAN WANG ice cream place and treated them ice creams! Six full big scoops for our small family of four. HAHA.. my parents was horrified when they saw the amount of ice cream I ordered. LOL... But I told them I ordered more so that they wouldn't complain that I am stingy when I treat them food. LOL...

Anyway, I still find it queer, amazing and AMUSING. That I could be so mad at them till I wanted to shout mean stuff in their faces but the very next day, I am over-feeding them with palatable ice creams.

Am I mad? Maybe I am. I guess I still love them more than hate them. And anyway, Hate is such a wrong word to use. HAHA...
