I met a pickpocket today.
Yes! A pickpocket! He attempted to steal my mobile from my bag but too bad for him, I caught him! He frantically stuffed my mobile back into my bag and said sorry sorry before escaping.
My mum was standing behind my dad on the escalator down. I was standing behind my mum. And this pickpocket was standing behind me. I guess he thought that I wasn’t paying attention to my surroundings because I was busy hugging and talking to my mum. But unfortunately for him, my mobile phone isn’t exactly light plus, I always pulled it out of my bag, the same way he attempted to steal it from me. Hence, I was very used to and sensitive about the change in weight of my bag when my mobile phone was taken out. Therefore, when he took my mobile, I could sense that my bag was lighter and a space in my bag that was supposed to be occupied was suddenly empty.
So I turned around in time to see him put my mobile phone from his hand which was directly behind me to the other hand. I shouted, “HEY!” I am not sure what went through his mind but he frantically stuffed my mobile back into my bag and ran off. As he escaped, he mumbled sorry sorry.
I felt lucky. I really had to thank GOD that my mobile wasn’t stolen. For one, it is my fault for tempting others as I didn’t zip my bag. But please understand that ever since I bought this bag, I only zipped it once or twice. The thing is, the first few times when I was out with this bag without zipping, I didn’t have any trouble. I was alert. Looking out for people who may come and steal my stuff but none came. Subsequently, I didn’t look out for “pickpockets” and nothing happened anyway.
But now, I start to wonder whether I had been lucky for most part of my life since I have never met a pickpocket till today or was it that Singapore is safe and I am just down on my luck today?
No matter what, I sincerely thank God that my omnia, thought tattered and torn, is still with me.
Praise the Lord!
Anyway, my family had dinner at the soup restaurant tonight. I must say that the branch at Ang Mo Kio Hub isn’t as good as the one at United Square and Causeway Point. Nevertheless, I shall post my family’s favourite dishes.
This is definitely a must-have! It is the signature dish of the Soup Restaurant. Seriously, I haven’t seen any table without this dish. It is called the Samsui Chicken and it is served with a plate of fresh lettuce for you to wrap the chicken in. =) Yum, yum! Love the sauce~!
My family’s personal favourites include the stir-fried sweet potato leaves at the top left corner of the collage. Usually, we will order the spicy one but today, somehow was an anomaly. The stir-fried fish slices with ginger and spring onions is another of our favorites and a must for us to order. It is at the bottom right of the collage. The large fried tofu at the top right is also delicious! It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I wonder how do you fry it such that it can turn out with such a texture? Dip the tofu into boiling oil and swiftly pull it out?
The salad prawns were nice but normal. Their soups are nice but I didn’t take a picture of it. It is the normal Chinese soup in claypot. Although it looks ordinary, but it is super nice!
Feeling very satisfied and happy with my sumptuous dinner!
However, we went during the peak period hence, we have to wait for quite some time before our dishes were served. So, as my family waited, I decided to take some sneak shots!
Uh oh! But I was caught by my dad. =(
And my mum was asking me not to take her picture cause’ she felt that she was not at her best. But, I snapped away anyway! HEEHEE…
